I can smell the Edinburgh Festivals in the air. The weather has started to cheer up, the locals have big smiles back on their faces, we now have our shiny new trams running and everyone’s starting to think about all the great performances the Edinburgh festivals will bring – see the video below for a few tasters.
Have you booked your accommodation yet for your stay here? If not, don’t fret, yet. There are still loads of great room deals available, if you know where to look. To get started straight away then search for Edinburgh hotel deals using the search box on the left – we compare room rates across all the leading hotel booking websites so that you don’t have to. If you’d like a bit more assistance, then please check out my latest recommendations for cheap accommodation below. Or if that’s not enough, drop me a message via the Contact page and I’ll do my damnedest to get you a deal to suit your budget.
Okay, let’s crack on. I’ve taken a look at deals available for a weekend in the middle of August – this is the city’s busiest time, so if we can find a deal here we can find a deal anywhere! Here are some places to get great hotel deals for beds for two people (although loads of other room types are available – singles to large groups;
- Royal Mile Backpackers – if you want to be bang in the centre of Edinburgh, then stay here. It’s cheap and it’s good – job done.
- Edinburgh Minto Hotel – if you prefer hotel stays then take a look to the Southside of Edinburgh and book a stay at the Minto Hotel. The hotel is on a popular bus route which will get you into the city centre in no time, or just walk, it’s not too far.
- Pollock Halls – Edinburgh First– you may well know that Edinburgh is a major University city (we have three here), well, these Universities open their accommodation up to visitors during the summer and this means you can get a great deal on clean, smart and well organised accommodation in the city centre. One of my fav places to stay is at the Pollock Halls centre run by Edinburgh University. The Halls are surrounded by green spaces and loads of the student services (restaurants, bars, shops etc.) remain open for guests, meaning you don’t have to travel into the bust city centre if you just want a relaxing drink or bite to eat.
