September is a great time to visit Edinburgh – the city is a little quieter after the craziness of the International Festival, Festival Fringe and all the other events going on in August.
However, there’s still loads going on in the city and plenty to see. The Edinburgh Mela is on from the 31st August to 2nd September down in Leith. Friday the 7th see the first Edinburgh Whisky Luxe, a treat for all whisky fans. The 30th September sees the hardy entrants of the Kilomathon race take to the streets to get fit and to raise money for charity – good luck to them all. Finally, one of my favourite events of the year is the Door Open Days on the 22nd and 23rd September, where visitors can take a look around buildings and sites they wouldn’t normally be allowed into.
